No longer just steel beams and concrete, the Jester Park Nature Center’s lower level now has rooms with wall framing completed! Throughout the rest of the month, more walls and framing will be added and soon the roof will be placed on the nature center.

With a roof on the nature center, this means windows, doors and other exterior work will be completed to enclose the building for winter! Plumbing, electrical, air ducts and other components of the heating and cooling system are also being installed.

Other Nature Center News:

The streamscape that will flow around the nature center is still being designed. Once the design is finalized, it will go out to bid for construction in mid-December.

Polk County Conservation staff has decided on furnishings and the overall look for the interior of the nature center. Furnishings will be going out to bid in December as well.

Each month, we are getting closer and closer to the finished product. Polk County Conservation’s dream of a nature center is finally alive thanks to you!
