We are two months away from the Jester Park Nature Center Grand Opening on August 5th and even closer to the nature center being completed! Walls are painted, restroom fixtures installed, interior masonry finished, and the building systems are nearly ready to operate.

In June, final construction activity will be taking place, including the installation of the acoustical ceilings and lighting, wood paneling and other millwork, carpeting, and floor tiles. Once the classrooms are completed, Split Rock Studios will arrive to install the environmental exhibits and other educational displays within the nature center.

Outside, the metal roof is finished, cedar siding is almost completed, and the rear outdoor patio/fireplace will be constructed in anticipation of the first communal fire to be lit. In the front of the building, the pond and streamscape will also be under construction, along with the entry bridge.
